This bike tour along the Scotch Whiskey Trail allows you to visit the castle and taste award-winning spirits

The Whiskey and Burns route rides on mostly quiet country roads and is designed for cyclists of all abilities.
neat. On the stone. Old-fashioned. However, if you want to drink whiskey, you can try sports on the new “Whiskey and Burns” bike trail. This 84-mile guided tour will take visitors to explore the picturesque scenery and castles of Scotland, and sample some of the best whiskeys along the way.
Led by the local tour company Galloway Cycling, the three-day experience began with a visit to Annandale Distillery, which was founded in 1830 and was later acquired by the famous Johnnie Walker brand. Here, cyclists will try some award-winning whiskies before joining the tour for the first time. Other highlights of the first day include visiting Caerlaverock Castle and Nature Reserve, and exploring the town of Dumfries, where the poet Robert Burns once roamed.
From there, we will arrive at Thornhill on the second day, and then end at Thornhill Loop on the third day. At the end of the journey, guests can look forward to stopping at Drumlanrig Castle, Morton Castle, Durisdeer Church and the Twelve Apostles Station, the largest stone circle in Scotland, on the ancient Roman Road.
If you don’t pay tribute to the man who made everything possible: Kirkpatrick Macmillan, the inventor of the modern bicycle, it would be impossible to ride a bicycle in Western Scotland. Expect to stop at his cemetery and the Keir factory where Macmillan made the first bicycle. The tour ends in Thornhill, and experienced and physically fit cyclists can choose to continue to Wanlockhead, Scotland’s highest village.
The Whiskey and Burns route rides on mostly quiet country roads and is designed for cyclists of all abilities. However, it can be customized for those who want to go faster or further than the recommended 30 miles per day. The price of this trip starts from US$570 per person and includes accommodation in a four-star or five-star hotel, breakfast, luggage storage, etc. Bicycles can also be rented for those in need.
